Prayer Vision

CHOP Vision: “Uniting the Body of Christ at the University of Texas in 24/7 prayer and worship for the transformation of the campus and the world.”

Uniting the Body of Christ at the University of Texas

The CHOP brings the whole Christian community at UT together in united prayer.  Students from more than forty different campus ministries participate in the CHOP.

“May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you loved me.”  John 17:23

In 24/7 prayer and worship

The goal of the CHOP is to have 24/7 prayer and worship at UT.  While 24/7 is a tangible goal, the real goal is to build a prayer movement that leads to revival at UT, weather that means 24/7 prayer or something else.

“Pray continually.  Give thanks in all circumstances.  This is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I Thessalonians 5:17,18

For the transformation of the campus

The purpose of the CHOP is to build the type of prayer movement that historically precedes revival. The focus of our prayers is for the transformation of the campus.

“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”  II Chronicles 7:14

And the world

The CHOP vision goes beyond that of the University of Texas, as does God’s vision.  We hope God’s heart for the world would grow in the hearts of believers at UT as they pray for different parts of the world.

“After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.  And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."  Revelation 7:9,10
