Missional Communities

Campus Ministries at the University of Texas are uniting to equip and send student missionaries into every college, club, residence, and culture at UT. The vision is to saturate the campus with missional communities.

Together, campus ministries at UT have identified about five hundred communities at UT where they hope plant missional communities. In 2003 there were just 20 active missional communities. Now there are more than 200! That means there are just 300 more communities on campus to be reached before we have the campus saturated with student missionaries.

The heart of the Campus Saturation Movement is the great commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20.   “All authority on heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore, as you are going, make disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and I will be with you to the end.”  It is a call to make more followers of Jesus.  It is a call for everyone, not just religious professionals.  It is a call here at UT, not just overseas.  It is a call for today, not just some time in the future.  All believers at the University of Texas are called to make disciples at the University of Texas.

Where is has God placed you?  In a dorm?  In a club?  On a sports team?  In a class?  In an ethnic community?  God has placed you there for a reason.  You are there to live and share the love and hope of Jesus with the people around you.  Help saturate the campus by uniting with others to start a missional community where you are.
